The public relations officer of SSANU, Abdussobur Salaam, said leaders of the unions in various branches and institutions have been informed on the outcome of the meeting. Salaam said: "Our branch leaders have been informed that the strike continues and no stone will be left unturned to ensure full compliance of the strike directive. He also noted that the federal government acknowledged the legitimacy of the unions’ grievances and has assured the three unions that efforts are ongoing to correct the unfortunate situation. NAIJ.com earlier reported that the unions had threatened to continue their strike action against the federal government if their demands are not met. The unions said the strike which commenced on Monday, December 4, would be called off only if the federal government releases the N30 billion to them. The unions said the money would be added to the N4.6 billion shared among the three non-teaching staff of institutions.
